In some neighbourhoods people report more feelings of insecurity and poorer quality of life than in other neighbourhoods. This project involves an in-depth ethnographic study of one such neighbourhood in the city of Maastricht, The Netherlands.

It reconstructs the experiences of citizens and professionals on different sites and in different social settings. It demonstrates how and to what extent people are able to live a good life and to improve their quality of life. In addition, it explores the types of professional or institutional work needed to raise the quality of life.
